Job Description Job SummaryResponsible for integration of rehabilitation services, care delivery and programs across the continuum, coordinating and collaborating closely with Spectrum Health Community Hospitals to ensure streamline and standardized care. Works collaboratively with the director to assure alignment of services and smooth transitions across the rehab continuum, in the acute and post acute settings. Analyzes and resolves inefficiencies and inconsistency of care across rehabilitation services. Plans, administers and manages staffing, productivity, finances, quality and programming ensuring that patient care is provided according to established standards of care and practice. This position is specifically for oversight of the rehabilitation services departments at Blodgett Hospital and Butterworth Hospital.Essential FunctionsAnalyzes and resolves inefficiencies and inconsistency of care in order to integrate and standardize care across the entire rehab continuum. Responsible for data analysis, outcome tracking/reporting and driving change around clinical excellence and best practice across the rehab continuum. Assists in the management of length of stay from a therapy perspective as well as the throughput of patients at Spectrum Health Hospitals and facilities. Works collaboratively with care management, physicians and physician leaders to expedite our discharge process and reduce length of stay. Aligns inpatient rehabilitation documentation, processes, and care delivery with the needs of acute and post acute rehabilitation to ensure every patient is navigated through Spectrum Health System efficiently and effectively. Liaison for inpatient rehabilitation services in interactions with patients and other interdisciplinary management. Works with department director to represent rehabilitative services at nursing, medical, and administrative meetings to discuss and/or resolve such matters as patient complaints, interdisciplinary problems and policy determination. Manages the activities of rehab supervisors, subject matter experts and rehabilitation staff. Provides direction and support to subordinate staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Selects, trains, develops, and evaluates team members and initiates personnel actions in accordance with System policies, organization philosophy, and approval by department director. Efficiently and effectively deploys resources across the rehab continuum so the right care is delivered to the right patient every time based on patient volume, case mix and agreed upon standards. Drives change, integration and collaboration across the entire rehab continuum, setting goals and standards with the director to ensure quality, consistent, standardized care is delivered. Collaborates and provides support, direction and standardization to community hospitals to achieve our goal to create the Spectrum Health Experience for all rehab patients. Drives program development across the rehab continuum (including community hospitals) by working closely with director, supervisor and clinical leads to ensure standardized and high quality care. Identifies opportunities for new business and assist director in the development of proformas for executive approval. Works collaboratively with director, medical directors and other key physicians to assess the rehabilitation service market to ensure growth and expansion of scope of services. Works with director to implement business plan within given time frame. Assists director in the development and implementation of departmental budgets. Maintains departmental annual operating budgets, ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines. Assists director in identifying capital budget needs. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree appropriate field of rehabilitation (Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or Speech & Language Pathology); or five years of leadership experience in the field of rehabilitation or equivalent - Required Master's Degree Management or Healthcare/Public Administration or MBA -Preferred 5 years of relevant clinical experience in the field of rehabilitation or comparable field -Required LIC-Physical Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required Or CRT-Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - NBCOT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire Required Or CRT-Speech Language Pathologist - ASHA American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Upon Hire Required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Required Inpatient therapy experience - Preferred
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
