Job SummaryThis position will coordinate the work of others to maintain accountability for the integrity, functioning and ongoing maintenance of databases. The ideal candidate will collect, code, enter and analyze data in a secure and confidential manner within the constructs of a data registry. The Lead Clinical Database Specialist will analyze reports and communicate findings as well as act as a resource to other members of the department and the Spectrum Health System as it relates to database management. This role applies advanced knowledge, skills and practices and performs using both an in-depth and broad perspective as needed; frequently takes full ownership of difficult assignments.Essential FunctionsUtilizes clinical judgment to coordinate the retrieval of pertinent clinical data. Key specialist/ cross-departmental liaison for registry work. Exercises independent judgement on matters of significance including providing guidance to other team members to identify and meaningfully presents pertinent data to appropriate parties. Advises others to ensure all data for program is entered accurately, timely and completely. Completes data validation and ensures accurate submission of data. Works with management to support the development of department strategy and operational objectives. Advises others to perform queries and generate reports based on the data collected and communicate findings to program director and other appropriate people. Provide guidance to staff working with internal and external programming staff to make adjustment in the database to meet program needs. Manipulates data output to develop unique reports to meet special requests. Anticipating special requests based on the data when possible. Collaborates with Management to review internal and external reports/data to determine accuracy and communicates findings to appropriate people. Communicates, collaborates and acts as a leader to other members of the health care/database team within and outside SH in order to coordinate data analysis efforts and suggestions for programmatic improvements. Advises clinical leadership and staff on quality improvement efforts and promotion of data. Provides guidance to others for ongoing quality improvement activities, making improvements in data management, and suggestions for programmatic improvements. Project manager for legal agreements for System Quality registry work. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing 10 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities Database management Preferred 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities Nursing experience Required LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
NursingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
