Summary Under the direction of the Security Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead maintains accountability for the coordination of front-end security services.
Assist in all aspects of security operations support, including performance improvement, development, documentation, testing and training.
Assists leadership with special projects and in examining processes to improve workflow and operations.
Provide duties of a security officer throughout the shift as needed.
Essential Job Responsibilities This armed uniformed position is a member of the MFB Threat Response Team that would respond to emergency situations, critical incidents such as active assailant events, and deadly force situations.
Coordinate daily work assignments and task direction for front-line senior security staff as needed in conjunction with direct supervisor.
Make eye contact and pleasantly greet each patient, visitor, and staff members; maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, client, staff members and coworkers to create favorable impressions.
Ensures a safe and secure environment; provides protective service and response for protection of the people and property of the Hospital; is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Department by protecting patients, visitors and employees who are in danger or have been threatened and intervene when appropriate to reduce or defuse potentially violent situations.
Investigate, document, and provide service-recovery for complaints.
Assume responsibilities for personal professional development and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
With assistance from direct supervisor, develop and analyze monthly employee audits and reports for department goals.
Educate staff and others on changing requirements and operational conditions.
Contribute to departmental analysis of workflow issues to assure efficient operating procedures for successful management/operations.
Assist with documenting and communicating scheduling needs to department leadership.
This position may be required to assist with covering officer shifts by adjusting work hours or working mandatory overtime based on staffing shortages.
Identify and recommend potential operational changes to optimize security services.
Perform all responsibilities of a security officer Perform other duties as required.

Essential Job Qualifications Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to operate a firearm, required by law.
High school diploma or GED Must, within six months of hire, become a Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) through the IAHSS.
Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation prior to becoming an Armed Security Officer.
Must, within 90-day training period, become certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heath Association and First Aid.
Have a current/valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License or eligible to obtain one within 90 days of employment, which will allow for the officer to carry a conducted electrical weapon (i.
e.
Taser) as well as operate a motor vehicle while armed.
Customer service experience (Health Care industry preferred).
Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours as needed.
Must have a valid State of Michigan driver's license.
Must have and maintain a driving record with no Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) or Operating While Visibly Impaired (OWVI) infractions and 4 points or less (to meet company fleet insurance requirements).
Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task.
Ability to work in inclement weather (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.
) for an entire shift.
