Under the supervision of the R&D Manager, the Process Developer will support the development and continuous improvement of MTP production processes for all commodity and value-added (raw & cooked) poultry products.
This will include:
Initiate and support process improvement initiatives to increase production efficiencies (both throughput and yield) and achieve optimum product quality and consistency Review current processes to identify, define and communicate critical operating parameters and establish process control and quality assurance parameters Identify and resolve processing issues through in-plant observation and collaboration with plant personnel Identify and test new equipment and processes in support of corporate goals Serve as a technical resource to Operations to investigate product complaints, food safety issue and troubleshoot processes as needs dictate Support Product Developer with process information to build new product processing specifications Work in conjunction with Product Developer to maintain current processing specifications Work collaboratively with other functional areas within the organization including Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing and Logistics to support the objectives of each department as it relates to Process Development and overall company needs.
Evaluation, testing and selection of packaging materials to meet product quality and shelf-life goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food/Meat/Animal Science or Engineering field is required, Master's Degree a plus.
Ability to think both creatively and strategically to achieve practical solutions is essential.
Minimum 2-years' experience in food process development is strongly preferred.
A high level of analytical and mathematical skill is a must.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively is a must.
Must be able to represent the organization in a professional manner to the industry at-large.
Flexible to work off shift(s) as project requirements necessitate.
Stay attuned to new industry developments and informed of all relevant legislative, scientific, and technical developments, and applicable industry codes of practice, as well as new product trends.
Keep MTP management abreast of new technology and systems to better the company.
Experience utilizing various Microsoft programs required including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
