This position will partner with the Human Resources Director to provide HR services to the College, including ensuring legal compliance and accurate recordkeeping, processing and maintaining confidential HR data, managing the staff talent acquisition process and coordinating the faculty acquisition process with the Provost office, works on HR projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Ensures established HR processes are followed and collaborates with HR Director to improve processes.
Opens, posts, and closes approved position requisitions, manage applicant flow, screening applicants, and performs reference checks.
Coordinates with hiring manager to schedule interviews for job applicants.
Assists managers in formalizing interview questions and participates in the interview process as needed.
Assists walk-ins needing HR assistance.
On-board new employees.
Performs new hire orientation.
Manages I9s.
Manages criminal background checks.
Maintains HRIS records as well as physical records.
Partners with the HR Director to assist with leave of absence requests in accordance with College policy, including tracking FMLA.
Coordinates Short Term Disability benefits with TPA and payroll.
Runs reports as needed.
Assists HR Director with the maintenance of a library of approved job descriptions.
Assists with OSHA log and workers' compensation reporting.
Assists with survey data as requested by HR Director.
Updates and maintains HR information on the College website and intranet.
Performs other job duties as required.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Degree or certification in HR, Compensation, or other HR-related field a plus.
Experience managing large amounts of data preferred.
Must be able to learn quickly and demonstrate accuracy in all areas of work.
Must know or be able to quickly learn employment laws.
Must be able to manage data in multiple systems, including running reports.
Must be well-organized and adept at recordkeeping Must be able to establish effective working relationships with Aquinas co-workers and members of the public.
Experience working with diverse populations is a plus.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to understand and accurately communicate College policies, procedures, and benefits programs.
Must demonstrate the ability to think analytically and solve problems.
Must be able to pay exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be trustworthy and able to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive materials and issues.
Must be able to function effectively in a multi-tasking environment, including effectively managing competing priorities.
Must demonstrate listening, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Must demonstrate sound professional judgment.
Must demonstrate polished interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external audiences.
Must have a strong client service orientation.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
