59 PM EasternJob Responsibilities The successful candidate in this position will perform technical work involving the determination of weatherization measures to be installed on housing units of clients including weatherization energy inspections on customers' homes, performing a variety of tests to determine energy efficiency, indoor air quality, furnace efficiency, presence of carbon monoxide, air tightness on all windows and doors, etc.
The Weatherization Specialist I is responsible for considerable contact with agency customers, subcontractors, and local governmental inspection offices.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED combined with additional specialized training in residential construction.
Desires a minimum of two years' experience in building inspections or in a technical trade such as plumbing, electrical or HVAC, including some public contact work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which indicates an ability to meet the requirements of the classification.
State Energy Auditor Certification will be required to be obtained within 6 months of date of hire.
The Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor Certification and Quality Control Inspector certifications will be required to be obtained within 18 months from the date of receiving the State Energy Auditor Certification.
Once these certifications have been obtained (or if you currently have them), you are eligible for our Weatherization Specialist II position which is a starting rate of pay at $25.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
