Sylvan Learning Centers of West Michigan is currently seeking a part-time talented and professional Human Resource (HR) Specialist to join our team and be responsible for managing all human resource procedures and HR software application platforms.
The successful candidate will be passionate about recruiting, onboarding, supporting, and evolving employees through our company's guidelines and managing processes.
Your main responsibilities will include recruiting and onboarding new teachers and directors for our centers, developing compensation and benefits packages, maintaining employee records, supporting employee performance reviews, and coordinating strategic workforce planning and growth opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you should be well organized, have great time management skills and be able to act without guidance.
In addition, you should be an excellent communicator, with in-depth knowledge of the recruiting process and labor regulations.
Human Resources (HR) Specialist responsibilities include:
Understand and monitor multiple recruiting platforms for employees Review and forward qualified teacher candidates to our center directors Perform first interviews for directors and teachers (if needed), and schedule next steps with CEO/ED for candidates continuing through the hiring process Provide, review, and input new employee hiring documents in our HRIS systems Provide an outstanding onboarding experience for every new employee Understand HR needs for by center and prepare weekly, monthly or quarterly reporting Prepare proactive recruiting employment advertisements, as needed Input new employees into payroll and HRIS application systems Screen and direct phone calls and distribute correspondence, as needed Monitor and oversee employee performance reviews and compensation adjustments Requirements and skills:
Work experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or similar role.
Background with working with children is recommended Excellent MS Office Google Drive and calendar knowledge Outstanding organizational and time management skills Familiarity with office gadgets and applications (e.
g.
e-calendars and copy machines) Excellent verbal and written communications skills Discretion and confidentiality Experience in recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and labor laws Starting hourly rate $18 per hour with bonus incentive based on business revenue goals met.
5-10 hours per work.
Hours vary and are based on business demands.
The working hours are flexible and can be completed virtually and/or onsite.
