We believe that by combining resources and creating programs that specifically target the needs of our community, we can be a conduit through which the stream of God's blessing flows.
Our Food Center provides supplemental food to local families.
We use a client choice environment that protects the dignity of each visitor and encourages relationships.
We also have a community garden on campus where neighbors can rent a plot and grow healthy produce together.
Job Description:
Warehouse Specialist Primary Function:
The Warehouse Specialist works closely with the Food Center Director to ensure that the food center warehouse and pantry is appropriately stocked and organized.
This person assists in cleaning and stocking the Food Center, participates in food deliveries and pick-ups, and assists in organizing the warehouse.
Core responsibilities include:
Thoroughly and completely agrees with the stated mission and vision of Streams as a Christian Community Development Organization Timely attend all meetings and scheduled events Timely complete workload within agreed-upon timeframes Serve as an ambassador for Streams with other community stakeholders, representing the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times and in all places Adhere to the confidentiality agreement, supporting the dignity of the clients Duties include but not limited to:
Maintain all warehouse inventory and stock arrangements Assist with food deliveries and pick-ups Assist with cleaning of the Food Center Assist with the stocking of the Food Center Assist with volunteer assignments when practical during service hours Assist with volunteer groups as needed Hours Required:
Total hours in a range of 20-25 weekly Flexible based upon scheduled deliveries and open food center hours Compensation:
Negotiable in keeping with food center budget and candidate qualifications Minimum
Qualifications:
Basic warehousing skills Experience with the local food distribution network Experience in dealing with food center clients and volunteers Good organization skills Dependable Works independently Can lift 40-50 lbs.
