Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric care for Health Services patients in the outpatient setting following standardized medical practice for specialty.
- Provide mental health care for patients dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding prescription medications, substance abuse, eating disorders, and other mental health topics.
- Takes time to educate patients that aims to empower them to take full advantage of their academic experience and learn to be engaged in their treatment.
- Consults with colleagues in Health Services and other colleagues across campus if needed in collaboration of services.
- Maintains documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintains current information and trends in the field of college mental health care. Demonstrates evidence of continued professional growth by involvement in continuing education standard to industry.
