Job Description
Dematic Corp has a need for a Product Engineer in our Research and Development group to become experts in the Dematic Multishuttle onboard and off-board controller software.
Position requirements include:
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years PLC programming experience including current, hands-on experience with material handling / intralogistics systems (conveyor, stacker cranes, or pallet conveying systems).
A minimum of 3 years experience in Siemens Step 7 coding is required.
Experience designing and developing software using a higher level language such as C, C++, or Java. Experience developing for Linux / Unix platforms preferred.
Experience with AB Logix PLCs. However, other PLC platforms will be considered as well.
Experience in HMI/SCADA programming is beneficial (Iconics, Wonderware, RSView, WinCC).
Experience with communication systems. Preferred experience in the following: Ethernet, Wireless Ethernet, ASi, ProfiBus.
Candidates must demonstrate a working understanding of design, layout and use of current networks such as Devicenet, ProfiBus, ASi, Ethernet.
Candidates should have the capability to develop and/or follow a project plan knowing the importance of setting and meeting milestone dates.
Experience in writing descriptions of operations and development of controls based physical layouts is expected.
Performs complex design, maintenance, enhancement, testing, implementation, and support of Dematic products and components. Completes the development of test requirements under development and executes test specifications. Completes estimates for modules under development and estimates own work. Performs review of complex standards specifications and other documentation to determine engineering requirements. Performs presentations of complex technical findings and developments. Completes the quality process through the execution of module, subsystem, and system test procedures.
Key
Responsibilities:
Candidate will be expected to baseline existing system, make needed improvements to stabilize/upgrade existing installations, and co-develop the next generation software in coordination with regional product champions. This will require the ability to complete a complex review of requirements and limitations to determine that the DMS performs optimally in all Dematic Corp. regions.
Training regional product champions will be required in order adequately deploy the DMS product.
15%-20% travel will be required.
Education:
Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.

Experience:
Dematic Corp. has a need for experienced controls engineers for a development effort involving the Dematic Multishuttle (DMS). The candidate should have experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, HMI programming, and higher language programming (preferably C). General experience relating to the operation and commissioning of material handling systems with cartons, totes, and/or pallets is also required. Preferred experience with the DMS. German language skills are a plus.
The DMS consists of an onboard controller in the shuttle. Generation 1 shuttles are controlled by an onboard Siemens S7 PLC. The Generation 2 shuttles are controlled by an embedded controller programmed in the C. The shuttles receive missions from the DMS off-board controller and do the work of picking and storing loads.
The DMS also consists of an off-board controller (stationary). The stationary is a Siemens S7 PLC. The stationary handles receiving and parsing missions from an upper level controller and sending missions to the shuttle. A stationary controller can have multiple visualization panels attached with serve both as a means of information announcement, manual motion control, and mission manipulation. The stationary controller also controls the lift(s), the conveyor on the lift(s), the conveyor in the rack, and sometimes the conveyor directly upstream/downstream of the lift. The stationary interfaces with the shuttles, the upper level warehouse system, and other input devices such as scanners.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
