Job Description
Dematic Corp. has a need at our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters for a Technical Support Engineer 2 in our Customer Service group. The successful candidates will have experience working in the material handling industry. Candidates must have the below
Qualifications:
Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls platforms a necessity.
Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus.
Willingness to work weekends, overtime and to travel is a must. 10% 30% travel is to be expected.
Minimum of 2-5 years of successful experience in related field.
Experience providing Customer Service Support.
Strong verbal communication skills over the phone.
Job Family
Responsibilities:
Participates in coordinating new product introductions as they relate to product support.
Participates in routine product support to customers remotely or on-site.
Participates in disseminating product knowledge.
Provides support in recommending products for customers with routine product needs to product design group.
Assists with the coordination of new product introductions as they relate to product support
Provides support in semi-complex product support to customers remotely via telephone, e-mail, & fax and documents accordingly.
Provides support with on-site and in-house troubleshooting for semi-complex products and other related products to customers.
Participates in active programs to increase customer satisfaction.
Participates in disseminating semi-complex product knowledge.
Provides support in recommending semi-complex product needs of the customer to product design group.
Key
Responsibilities:
Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.
Education:
Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree, but may be substituted with experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and
Experience:
Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable
Direction of Others:
May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff.
Key Working Relationships:
Primarily intra-organizational contacts and some external contacts.
