Sr Product Development Engineer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Senior Product Development Engineer/ Advanced Products
Reports to: VP of Engineering

Responsibilities:

Responsible for new design of products and new product applications
Close contact with the customer to promote advanced products
Take customer requirements and develop concept to fulfill requirements
Responsible for detailed design, establishing prints and specifications, developing prototypes, and specifying tests, overseeing these activities conducted by Product Development Engineers and Senior Product Development Engineers
Participates in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team including review of timing issues, metal components, suppliers, molds, production processes, product costs, etc.
Participate in the DFM process to insure design meets production needs.
Processes assembly and component changes to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, etc.
Responsible for completing all tasks assigned
Diagnoses and reports on causes of failures in products.
Detailed development of a product or system to meet customer's functional and cost requirements. Fully utilizing physical test and analytical methods to support design direction.
Ensure the QS9000 Advanced Product Quality Planning process is followed.
Specifying laboratory tests to simulate the vehicle life cycle.
Work cooperatively with the Program Managers to develop team objectives and goals and to jointly manage the team to achieve these goals

Requirements:

Minimum of a BS Degree. MS in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
Experience as required to meet responsibilities without detailed supervision.
Must be a self-starter, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills.
Must have good written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to accept and cope with restrictive time frames and unpredictable problems. At all times should dress in a manner to enhance our corporate image.
Some amount of overnight and daily travel may be required.
Must have knowledge of processes used to manufacture products, know and understand metal stampings and casting suppliers, mold makers, metal finishers (coatings), etc.
Must be capable of managing product development programs with limited supervision.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
