Project Engineer
Location: Muskegon, MI
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform project and engineering work in development, design, and analysis of production systems, processes or equipment. Execute capital investment projects on time and within budget, helping site to meet its overall capital budget.
The incumbent will:
o Assist plant management in developing, reporting and implementing initiatives/project to improve performance;
o Perform engineering assignments and executes project work based on improving methods, processes or equipment in the quality department;
o Execute projects needed site wide. As a project engineer this person assists the site and plant operations daily via expeditious project execution influencing plant safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability and operability;
o In partnership with operations, support the manufacturing process, by monitoring operations, performing studies, and investigating engineering techniques for possible process improvement applications;
o Executes projects, process, electrical or mechanical changes and confirms that these are carried out well;
o Serves as subject matter expert in field of study and plant representative for design, construction and implementation of capital projects in said fields - interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, PCS and Process Engineering, Environmental, Operations, etc.).
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
o Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related science with 5
years' experience;
o Experience in process measurement and applications in a manufacturing environment;
o Broad technical background, excellent knowledge of the chemical processes in order to effectively execute projects and recommend and make complex decisions;
o Ability to lead and manage a team as well as work independently;
o Ability to manage and successfully execute capital projects including development and presentation of project scope, cost estimating, budgeting and scheduling;
o Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communicate skills in both technical and non-technical areas;
o Proficient Computer skills, especially MS Excel and MS Word;
o German language skills are a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
