Production Manager Engineering - Grand Rapids, MI at Geebo

Production Manager

Company Name:
Career Development Partners
My client provides a wide range of fully integrated automatic welding and weld positioning systems. Their standard products and design solutions can be found in many industry sectors, such as oil & gas, machinery manufacturing, transportation, fabricated metal products, and energy. They have been in business over 45 years. They are experiencing explosive growth, 40% year over year. They are expanding manufacturing operations to Grand Rapids, Michigan as such we are looking to hire a Production Manager for Grand Rapids. This person will on the ground floor with great opportunities for growth as the company continues to expand.
The ideal Production Manager will take customer approved drawings put them into the ERP system (Job Boss) and then figure out how to roll it out in the shop to be built. You will be looking at lead times for parts, make sure manpower is assigned appropriately so the machine/system can be assembled in Grand Rapids then delivered to the respective customer on time and in budget. You will manage a group of 9. (Assembly, Machining, Water jet, Fabrication, Fixtures/Patterns, etc.)

It would be ideal if you have experience designing equipment to be manufactured or assembled with an emphasis on heavy equipment and welding equipment. (Cycle time is less of a concern, the designs are lifting heavy loads 1000 lbs and up is typical- so think heavier fabrication, multi-pass, ideally with a strong awareness of welding process).

Growth/ Advancement Potential:
This is a high growth market segment -sales are expected to double and triple in the next 2 to 3 years! You can be integral in helping shape this growth as they expand in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is open because they had a person in a leadership development role and his tour of duty is up, so they need to replace him. He is rotating out, but will be there to help his replacement transition into the role. (The incumbent will be moving into a Project Mgr. role within the company, so he won't be far away.)
