Looking for a change of scenery? We seek a formally trained, board Certified Genetics Counselor (CGC) with a specific interest in adult cancer syndromes and hereditary/familial cancer screening and counseling for a rewarding opportunity with a highly regarded health system. In this role you will engage in clinical, educational, and research areas of genetics counseling and screening. You will evaluate patients and families considered at risk for familial cancers. You will participate in bi-weekly screening biweekly in the breast clinic as well as the Gastrointestinal MDC Conference/Program. You will be available to see patients in Breast/GI/GYN-ONC Clinic within 72 hours for patients considered at high risk for hereditary cancer syndrome where initial surgical treatment selection may be altered by identification of hereditary syndrome. You will participate in formal education efforts in regard to educating healthcare providers on identifying at-risk families. You will participate in research efforts directed at improving screening rates of at-risk families.
Candidates must have a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from a program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). Must hold certification as a Genetics Counselor by the American Board of Genetics Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Must have three (3) or more years previous experience in the practice of adult cancer genetics/adult familial cancers counseling. Must have the ability to provide expertise in clinical genetics, to counsel and communicate with patients on matters of clinical genetics, and to provide genetic counseling services in accordance with professional ethics and values.
