Biller - Skilled Nursing Facility - Senior Living Grand Rapids

Full Time Biller for the SNF of our Senior Living Community located at 32nd and Kalamazoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The person we seek will have experience with Medicare A and B, Medicaid, other third party insurance billing.
Experience with PCC would be a plus! Comprehensive benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Generous paid time off and holiday payOffice in the administrative wing Job Summary Manage census and revenue cycle of in-patient resident's accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and practices, and to meet contractual requirements and organizational objectives.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain current knowledge of, and generate claims and complete billings for private, Medicare A and B, Medicaid, other third party insurance carriers.
Track Part B monetary cap for inpatient/outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services.
Provide customer support for resident or responsible party, including providing account related information to resident/families as necessary.
Answer questions or concerns related to charges and payments in accordance with the admission contract.
Maintain skilled nursing billing software.
Generate census data and distribute to inter-disciplinary team timely.
Record daily census changes in admissions/discharges or room changes.
Record monthly room and board charges, all ancillaries and posting of payments and enter cash, ancillaries and other transactions into billing software system.
Analyze month end reports - revenue, deposit detail, census and aging reports.
Assist in close procedures with corporate office.
Verify third party insurances for all potential new admissions.
Process and track resident security deposits.
Prepare bank deposits and maintain documentation.
Monitor new, pending and yearly redeterminations on federal/state applications for funding.
Analyze outstanding accounts and resubmit rejected claims.
Schedule and facilitate family/responsible party meetings to discuss repayment of delinquent private pay accounts.
Create applicable payment plans in accordance with policy.
Prepare accounts receivable analysis collection reports detailing efforts made on delinquent private pay, or more than 90 days insurance accounts.
Participate in Medicare focused and other appropriate meetings and projects as needed, and attend monthly/quarterly meetings with administrator as well as direct supervisor.
Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification High school diploma required.
Some accounting courses or associates degree; Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred.
Experience Minimum one year medical billing experience.
Minimum two years accounting experience, preferred.
Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesAbility to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic forms.
Ability to work constructively with supervisor and staff.
Ability to understand and apply various accounting, data processing and general office principles.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Ability to compute rates and percentages.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with client, employee and organization information.

Ability to work constructively with staff and other stakeholders.

Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
