Utilities Manager
We are currently seeking a Utilities Team Leader to work in our Millsdale Manufacturing facility located
in Elwood, IL, a southern suburb of Chicago.
The main purpose of this role is to plan, manage, and
deliver safe, reliable, and efficient utilities to the Millsdale Plant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for Utilities area design, resourcing and output ensuring that it is inline with current
and future site production needs
Provide people leadership to nine direct reports
Provide technical troubleshooting within the Utilities area and support area production teams for
sitewide utility needs
Prioritize capital requirements and work with the Engineering Team to scope, planning and
execute projects
Develop annual expense budget in alignment with the Accounting Team and provide monthly
insight to expense variances.
Work alongside maintenance planning group to ensure that utility equipment preventive maintenance turnarounds are timely and effectively planned
Define, track and ensure that metrics are utilized to indicate current performance and future
targets for utilities
Initiate formal management of change (MOC) requests and track activity to closure
Collaborate with Maintenance, Reliability and site Production teams plan and respond to sitewide
utility outages
Participate in site and corporate led initiatives focusing on sustainability, energy reduction, cost
out and compliance efforts
Collaborate with Procurement, Vendors, Water Service Contractors, and utility providers to
assure cost effective and stable/consistent supply of site utilities
Ensure that operating procedures are accurate, up to date and employee training is in
compliance with expectations
Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering is preferred
Chemical operations or supervisory experience of 5
years
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and to manage cross
functional teams.
Solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations
Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and team meetings
On call availability for site-wide utilities issues
