) When it hit the showroom floor, the Valiant was a compact car for the average person to drive.
No frills, just a practical car for getting around town.
The second generation Valiant you see here is a little bit different than the original concept of the Valiant.
Although in 1964 Chrysler offered a 273ci V8 in the Valiant, this car has something a bit bigger and more powerful under the hood.
We suggest that you take the time to read about this car.
This is our valiant attempt at telling you all about a really cool classic car.
The hue of the original Metallic green harkens back to the color palettes of the 60's.
Wall paper, Fiestaware dishes, Bakelite products, and polyester clothing all had the familiar green hue.
The body on this car is in great condition, and our client tells us that the only metal on the car that has been replaced is the firewall.
The paint is even and glossy, body panel fitment is all dialed in, and the trim and badging is all present and in great shape.
If you could pull this car from the current day and somehow send it back to a dragstrip in 1965, no one would bat an eye.
The current styling is very simple and period correct.
The only body modification is the hood scoop, but add in the rake thanks to the suspension mods, and the Cragar classic wheels with meaty tires in the rear and you've got a weekend warrior that would be right at home at the local drag strip in the mid to late '60's.
As we mentioned earlier, the Valiant was offered with a 273ci V8 which made the Valiant the cheapest V8 powered car in the world.
Cheapest and V8 sounds like it could be a recipe for cheap fun, but the 273 wasn't very powerful.
Not like the muscle cars that we think of when we hear the word MOPAR.
However, this Valiant falls under the muscle car moniker thanks to a 318ci V8 bored 20 over with a hot cam mounted under the hood, a forward rake, hood scoop, and an A833 4 speed manual transmission.
Valiant interiors were pretty simple, just offering the basic creature comforts and a nice design.
This Valiant is no different.
The interior is left pretty close to the way it had come from the factory, it even looks to be highly original.
The interior is tidy and offers a bench seat, simple gauge cluster, and crank windows.
A few gauges have been added, and the obligatory Hurst shifter is easily spotted when taking a peek through the windows.
Our suggestion is that you make a valiant attempt to add this neat car to your collection.
It's got all the right stuff for fun - built 318 V8, 4 speed, original color combination, and some big tires to light up.
Your neighbors will be green with envy.
