) Once a race car, then a special edition, the Grand Sport has become the Corvette's top-selling trim.
After a drive in the C7 version, we understand why.
?EUR Car and Driver First Drive, June 2016 In two articles-a First Drive article in 2016 and a Long-Term Test report in 2016-Car and Driver magazine carefully analyzed the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport.
Here are outtakes on several key points:
Overall impression:
The Grand Sport feels like what it is:
a Stingray with an enormous amount of grip.
And it looks like what it is:
a Z06 without the completely absurd power.
Real-world power:
It is only in a world where less than $100,000 can buy you a factory-warrantied 600- or 700-hp car (The Grand Sport's) 460 sounds unimpressive.
Have you ever tried to fully exploit 650 horsepower on the street for anything more than a fleeting moment? If so, are you currently reading this story from the comfort of the prison rec room? Handling:
On Milford's ride-and-handling loop, a section of gentle curves and alternately ragged or lumpy pavement, the Grand Sport could only be made unpleasant by calling up the stiffest track setting and only then after encountering a series of chatter bumps.
You won't do that.
Left in touring or sport, the ride is admirably free of harshness and the car shrugs off nasty mid-corner heaves and hillocks.
Reliability? It suffered not a single unscheduled stop, failure to crank, or Uber request required to bail us out.
We didn't even have to add a single quart of oil.
It was a sterling test of reliability.

com/reviews/a23705281/2017-chevrolet-corvette-grand-sport-reliability/ Offered here is a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport in white over black (a Star Wars Stormtrooper vibe).
Adult-driven by only one owner, the car retains near-showroom condition inside and out.
The odometer currently reads 15,674 miles, or fewer than 4,000 miles per-year since new.
The Corvette's exterior white paint retains a near-showroom-new appearance.
White dates back to the first Corvette, and in concert with the black ZO6 trim, makes for a striking look.
(To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.
) It's no wonder this seventh-generation redesign was so well-received and remains venerated by Corvette enthusiasts.
Design touches like the lower-front blackout grille, wider stance, re-executed headlight design with LED elements, re-styled front and rear side brake-cooling openings, re-designed rear fascia, quad, center-exiting exhaust, and black spoilers front and rear all updated the C7 cars while remaining true to the Corvette DNA.
This evolutionary improvement on a classic theme helped guarantee the C7's place in Corvette history.
The car's entire body-including lower-front and rear panels-is free of any noteworthy damage or defect.
The white removable roof panel is similarly undamaged.
Lighting lenses and cabin glass show no cracks, fading, or other flaws.
All factory badging-including the front Corvette-flags em.
